Plymouth College elite swimmer, Ruta Meilutyte, 16, has set another European record - her second in four days.
Competing in the Barcelona leg of the Mare Nostrum series, Ruta clocked 29.96 seconds to smash the 50m breaststroke record. Just 0.16 seconds off the world record, Ruta goes down in history for being the first female to swim under 30 seconds over this distance in a textile suit.
Plymouth College's Director of Swimming, Jon Rudd, who is with her in Barcelona, said: "We are both delighted with another European record."
The Olympic Champion broke her own 100m breaststroke record by 0.01 seconds on Saturday in the Monte Carlo stage of the competition.
Jon said at the time: "We haven't started the taper into the World Championships yet so I really wasn't expecting this from her. Ruta won the 100m by more than 2.5 seconds and it didn't even look like it was full effort!"
