Just before Plymouth College's 1st XV kicked off their first home match of the season, they took time out to thank sponsors, law firm Wolferstans, by presenting them with a framed shirt.
With the presentation complete it was down to business with Plymouth College delivering a curate's egg of a performance against Hereford Cathedral School. Hereford were a well organised and disciplined team who were not going to be mugged into conceding cheap scores.
After starting brightly with an early well worked try, Plymouth were guilty of forcing matters and failed to capitalise on their physical superiority. Half time came and the team talk centred around the need for honesty, hard work and team before individual glory. The response was positive and three tries followed.
Tries came from Jake Kingscott, Oliver Demaine, Paul Hamber and Ed Neeves with two conversions by Ed. A good win for Plymouth College saw a final score of 24-0.
