Plymouth College's Modern Pentathlon scholars have returned from the National Schools' Biathle Championships with four titles. The competition took place at Leweston School in Dorset.
Seren Allin, Ella Ellis and Kerrie Johnson won the national title for the Girls Years 10 & 11 age group. Individually, Seren was 1st overall closely followed by Ella in 3rd place and Kerrie in 6th.
However, not to be out done, Frankie Aldred, Edward Clark and Ollie Lord were also National Team Champions for the Boys Years 10 & 11 age group. Individually Frankie was 3rd with team mates Edward in 4th place and Ollie in 5th.
Plymouth College athletes also did well in the Boys Year 12 & 13 category with Harry Preston taking the top spot. Although he has not competed in a Biathle before, Paddy Erskine finished just behind in 2nd place. In the younger category, Gabrielle Wardle finished in 8th place for the Year 7 Girls.
Biathle consists of 500m Run / 100m Swim / 500m Run with no stops in between the disciplines - the distances are reduced for the younger categories. Athletes can compete from Year 4 through to Sixth Form.
Modern Pentathlon Coach, Josh Lake, said: "Well done to all our modern pentathletes. It was a remarkable team effort to return home with so many national titles."
