Plymouth College's Karting team have qualified for the national final of the British Schools Karting Championships after coming 2nd in the South West final. Taking place at Thruxton Raceway near Salisbury, 37 teams competed in the regional event.
Wesley Foster came 2nd from a grid position of 8th and then won his next race from a grid position of 7th, claiming 19/20 points. Head Boy, Harry Cobbold, was unlucky in one of his races after spinning off the track when he hit an oil spill. However, he turned it around in his other race taking 1st place from a grid position of 4th. Will Ford excelled in his first championships gaining 5th place from a starting position of 14 and a 2nd place from a pole position.
The team finished runners up on 96 points, easily qualifying for the national final, which takes place in Northampton on 16 June 2013.
