Plymouth College’s Politics Society was delighted to welcome Dr David Brockington from Plymouth University to answer the question "How do you become President of the United States?"

The hopes of some were dashed from the start when it became clear that you needed to be a naturally-born American Citizen, although there remains debate as to exactly what that means - something that would need to be tested by the Supreme Court at some point.

Dr Brockington talked through the strengths and weaknesses of the various campaigns, suggesting that the final race will be between Trump and Clinton, with a Clinton victory. The talk attracted plenty of questions from the 40-strong audience and proved extremely successful.
