Plymouth College Preparatory School pupil, Reuben Hart, 10, will represent the South West in the National Elite Gymnastics finals in Birmingham in November.
The talented gymnast came third in the South West qualifying event and competed the following weekend at a prep competition for finals in the London Open, which was held at the venue where the GB gymnastics team train. Reuben was lucky enough to meet Louis Smith, Max Whitlock and Nile Wilson.
Reuben started gymnastics at an early age attending Parent and Toddler sessions. Coaches spotted his potential at pre-school and invited him to train in the development group at the age of 5. He then progressed to the elite boys and the south west squad. Reuben trains five days a week with Plymouth Swallows Gymnastics Club.
This is the second year running that Reuben has been selected for the elite pathway in men’s gymnastics.
