Dressed as kings, queens, noblemen, knights and peasants, Year 4 spent the day finding out what it was like to live in Tudor times.
During the day they made pomanders out of oranges and cloves, and drew Tudor portraits. The children found out about what herbs were grown and what they were used for, and cooked pottage for their lunch.
In the afternoon Year 4 learned some traditional Tudor dances, which they performed for parents. They also took it in turns to read stories about famous people who lived in Tudor times such as Lady Jane Grey, Mary Queen of Scots, Elizabeth I and Henry VIII. Prizes were awarded for the best portraits.
